Premium Support vs Full Cup: Our Two Support Levels

If you’ve been browsing bras online and noticed that our website has options for both “Full Cup” and “Premium Support”, you might be wondering why that is, and how you’re meant to choose the best option for you body.

The good news is, for most people, this isn’t a big decision. You don’t need to analyse your breasts or guess what category you fall into. In most sizes, we’ve already done the hard work for you.

Why we created two support levels

Bra sizing is based on volume. As cup sizes increase, the demands on a bra increase too. At a certain point, it’s no longer just about covering breast tissue, the bra also needs to carry a decent amount of weight, and do it comfortably.

That’s why our support levels are mapped to cup size, not band size.

Our Full Cup bras are designed to support C to G cup, and work beautifully for most women in that range.

Premium Support bras are designed for G up to K cup, where we add extra internal structure to keep the bra comfortable and performing properly through the day.

The support your bra needs has nothing to do with your overall size, and everything to do with the size of your breasts. So, regardless of whether you’re a size 10 or 24, smaller breasts = full cup, larger breasts = premium support.

If you’re seeing both in your search results, it’s likely because you haven’t filtered by bra size yet!

What Full Cup bras are made for

Full Cup bras are made to give you good coverage and enough structure to keep everything sitting where it should. They come in a few different shapes, depending if you're after a natural silhouette or a slightly more lifted look

Up to G cup, this support system works extremely well. The band, wire shape, and cup construction are able to manage the weight of the bust without needing heavier reinforcement. The strap width and number of clips might increase, but the overall design of the bra stays largely the same.

What Premium Support bras are made for

Premium Support bras exist because larger cup sizes place more strain on a bra over time. From G cup upwards, the weight of the bust can mean that standard support structures just don’t cut it. That’s when, in average bras, women notice things like underwires that bend or poke through, saggy cups, or spillage over the top.

Premium Support bras have been designed to do things differently. We use a stronger internal frames and firmer, more inwardly curved underwires that sit higher at the centre front and under the arm. This helps draw breast tissue in from the sides and hold it closer to the body, where it’s easier to support. It also means there’s more fabric at the top of the cup to keep the girls where they should be.

The result isn’t in how the bra looks so much as how it feels. Our larger cup ladies tell us that their bra stays comfortable for longer, needs less adjusting and does it’s job all day long.

Where G cup fits in

You may have noticed that G cup is our tipping point. And if you wear this size, great news, you get to choose which style is best for you. Some women feel completely comfortable in Full Cup, while others feel noticeably better in Premium Support. It comes down to which support structure feels better on your body.

If you’re a G cup and not sure which way to go, we’ve put together a separate guide that walks through that decision in more detail, Why G Cups Have Two Support Options (and How to Pick the Right One.

Start wearing the best bra for your cup size
